"In the lead-up to the federal election Oct. 19, Alberta transgender rights activists are questioning the delivery of voter information cards with incorrect names.

As of last week, the Trans Equality Society of Alberta had been contacted by 35 transgender persons across the province who received voting cards with their birth names, rather than their chosen names. Some had officially changed their names years before."

Hey, I got one like that as well in Ontario!!

To cast my vote, I was told I have to bring my citizenship certificate, change of name certificate, certificate of gender change surgery if I wanted to change my genetic marker and in the event any of my government documentation was different from my presenting gender and some form of official identification such as passport or driver's licence.

Talk about a hassle and typical government bull!

Mine was wrong as well, Changed my name almost 2 years ago. Wasn`t an issue to get it changed, just a pain in the butt to have to go to an elections office to get it changed
