International Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) in Brighton, will be marked with a community memorial service on Sunday, November 22 at the Dorset Gardens Methodist Church starting at 2pm.

The day is for Trans people worldwide who have been murdered or have suffered violence due simply to hatred towards their gender identity and gender expression.

Although not every person represented during the Day of Remembrance self-identifies as Trans, each is a victim of violence based on bias against transgender people.

Do you know why Nov 20 is the International Trans Day of Remembrance? I didn't until I read this informative piece.

Any Brighton Girls or Guys going to be attending?

This year has been difficult one for trans folks but there has been progress. Maybe one day we'll have something like this at my place of worship.

I convinced my church to have a TDoR service this year.
