I'm doing this at 3 in the morning, so it may not sound coherent. My chosen name is "Kate," and I am a relative "noob" on this site. I have known I was different from other boys since I was about 4-5 years old. I specifically remember praying to God to let me wake up as a girl the next morning, and I have always pretended I am a girl when I'm off by myself. I am about 8 months into HRT, and the change in my appearance is becoming rather obvious, especially in the chest area. I have come out to what is left of my immediate family (long story) and they have accepted me. I have not officially come out at work, but there are a couple of people in whom I have confided about it, and they are open to it and supportive. That day may be sooner than later, as I have heard that some of my coworkers have made comments about my "attributes," so to speak, which is what prompted one of the people who know to ask me about it.
I am particularly interested in finding transwomen in my area, so that I can get to know them and be supportive, and be a fellow traveler. I know exactly 0 transwomen personally, and would like to get into a support group or something This has been a scary and exciting ride thus far, and since it seems like, with my circumstances, that this is "my time," and I'd like to find some kindred spirits. I promise I'll be a "good girl," and not be a blabbermouth.

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.
There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.
Check the resources section for supportive Trans organisations. A lot depends where you live, but at the end of the day, you'll need a good local and on line support group to get you through this in one piece.
