Title: Hair getting lighter on T?
Post by: Tentacles on October 24, 2015, 01:40:04 PM
Hello everyone,

This is probably a ridiculous question, but I'm asking it anyway. Can testosterone make hair lighter? Has anyone experienced it or know somebody who is experiencing it?

My hair used to be blonde when I was a kid but then grew darker as I got older until it was dark brown. Now I'm in my early twenties and just after I started T my facial hair started to get lighter. The hair on my upper lip used to be black and now, at four months on T, it's light blonde. My chin hair was mostly brownish-black with some blonde peach fuzz but then turned reddish-brown and is now light blonde. I don't think it's the sun because my hair normally doesn't get lighter in the summer since I stay inside too much. Now as fall has arrived, and it's mostly cloudy and rainy where I live, the hair on my head is starting to get lighter as well. I'm not exactly worried, but more confused. From what I heard testosterone is supposed to make your hair darker. Any thoughts?

This won't answer your question, but E made my facial hair darken from blonde to dark brown. Go figure...

I think the expression "YMMV" would be appropriate here.
