Title: Lumps on injection site
Post by: NeuroticMedic on October 25, 2015, 07:58:49 AM
I just got my first shot of T on tuesday and let me tell ya, its been epic since then. However i've been concerned since then cause i got lump on the injection site. I think the nurse may have injected me wrong. I say this because i have read that injections shout be lateral mod thigh. She actually injected right into the quad muscle. I could be wrong tho, so i'm wondering who has experience with this.

Injecting right into your quads is exactly what you should do for IMs. You want to hit the muscle. As far as I know, small lumps are okay, but I've never had any. If it doesn't go down, give your doc a call. Hopefully some other guys have experience here. Gratz on your first shot, by the way!

I get my shots in my butt (because I would be crippled for days if I had them in my thigh) but I always get a lump on the injection site which subsides in a matter of couple weeks. AFAIK it's the "pocket" inside the muscle where the T is.

I've been self injecting into my thigh for almost 2 years now and I still get a lump from time to time but it won't last more than a  couple days.
My first shot though was horrible.. Although it might have been that I used too much of a big needle or I just messed up but I wasn't able to walk for like 2 days but I just waited it out and I was fine.
Just my two cents :P
