Title: Excerpt: There Is No One, Single Transgender Narrative
Post by: captains on October 26, 2015, 07:54:34 AM
Caught an article today that I found interesting and affirming. Hope someone else enjoys as well. From The Advocate: an excerpt from Nick Krieger's essay from the new anthology, "Finding Masculinity: Female to Male Transition in Adulthood."

QuoteBack [at the beginning of my own gender transition], I spent many late-night hours clicking around on blogs, watching YouTube videos, and reading piles of gender books stacked by my bedside. Learning about people with various transgender identities opened up a galaxy of possibility for me. I used their language and experience as a reflection, a disco ball where each mirrored fragment showed me a tiny piece of myself.

I see a lot of myself in that, even though I'm in one of the lanes on the other side of the divider.
