"TIME speaks to the model and actress about Hollywood, her marriage and what people misunderstand about what it means to be transgender."

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but i love Drag Race.

Though i have to disagree with carmen where she says: "I can't wait until the day comes where the story of a passable trans women is in there, too. That's where I'm included. I feel like a lot of the time it's the transgender people who are having a more difficult time fitting in with society, so we have to have those conversations and we have to have those lessons about pronouns and the right words" - I more often see things about 'beautiful' or 'handsome' transpeople as if the articles are saying 'it's okay, they're pretty'... maybe we'd all be better off if there was less normalising of transpeople and more attempts to destroy the idea of normal.

I also adore Drag Race.

First of all: I'd love her to be a VS model, that's an enormous step for our community, visibility and everything.

And I'll disagree with Carmen. On the opposite we should be focusing on everyone's story: passable and not, because we are all different and we should all be taken as the norm.

Agreed; I don't think most Cis People realize how diverse Trans People are.
