So this is all pretty new and scary for me. Today I actually sat down, got out my notebook and just said ok and started to think about, how could I map out and plan transitioning. I want to do this and I need too. I thought maybe joining a message board might be helpful. I don't really know where to begin. It feels good tho.
Hello and welcome :)

Remember its a step by step process... just do the next step.
Many have done it and succeeded.
Your headline seems to indicate it might be a good idea to look at transgender boards of your country, how the process there usually is going.
There also might be a lgbt center where you might ask for counseling.
And you might look up posts of the member lara1969, its possible she is from your country, she gave some helpful hints, concerning psychologists etc.
*hugs*
Welcome to Susan's Place. I think you came to the right place for information. I came here in May for information on voice surgery finding a wealth of information and many helpful people. They also gave me a job that I enjoy far more than sitting around watching TV. Many people are passing on the information and there are a number of us long post surgical here to give you the longer view should you need it. Feel free to ask any questions you have and I am sure somebody will be around to answer them.
We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Thank you for the welcome! I don't live in Germany anymore, I'm in the US, I'm just from there originally. It's step by step indeed. In my head I've kinda been trying to break down into long term goal (complete physical transition) and short term goals (make up, longer hair, more clothes) and trying to build from there. This part in itself is already freeing and a big step for me.
First big three are grow your hair, remove facial hair and start therapy.
Then you will want to get HRT, work on your appearance, work on voice.
Then comes appearing in public for the first time, progressing to full time.
Many of these things can be overlapped but the first three are slow so should be the first things you tackle. Add other items if money permits. As for plastic surgery, those are a personal decision but many people can get by without them. Also hormones changes the body and face so FFS and BA should be delayed until you know what the hormones will do for you.

Hello Alexandria and welcome to Susan's.
:)
Hi Alexandria,
And I don't think you're weird.
A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.
There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.
While you still have your pad and pen out, write down, "This is not a DYI ( do it yourself) project. I am not Robinson Crusoe. In other words, transition is not done alone, by yourself. It involves a community of support and helpers, be it on line, in your own community or both. None of us would be here without our own community of support. Especially me. My Gawd, I'm still here in one piece because of Susans family.
Next thing to jot down. I must find a local gender therapist to help me navigate this labyrinth of feelings and emotions. Much more than that is pure detail.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
Lotsa huggs
Catherine
