Well... from my name here you can tell that I'm still a little lost. My story starts when I was very young, I wanted to be a girl, I never thought my body looked right. My emotions and senses are certainly female. But like many of you I'm finding I repressed these feelings for a very long time. I'm now in my forties wondering if I have wasted 23 or so years of my adult life. Time will tell.
I'm soooooo glad to have found you all, (and maybe myself) I'm so excited and looking forward to the future! I'll probably say some pretty stupid things as I work through this!

Thanks Tinkerbell, you are so cute!
I tried to reply to your PM to thank you, but it said I could not :(
Hi Amanda,
Welcome to Susan's.
Don't think of those years as wasted, it'll just bring you down. Look at everything that has gone before as a big giant learning experience. Whoever you have been will help you to become who you are.
Take care of yourself and remember if things start feeling heavy, it'll pass.
Good luck to you.

Sorry Amanda, I should have also said that you need a total of fifteen posts to reply to a PM. Just a few more to go... :)

Welcome Amanda ;D
Hi Amanda and welcome to Susan's! Feel at home here, lots of people are going through and have gone through the things you talk about. It feels very good to have a supportive community as you work through questions you have at the beginning of your journey. I usually recommend finding a qualified gender therapist in your area and starting there. It really helps to have someone talk to you and understand the things you are going through. They are not there to push you through transition or anything, the good ones will let you answer questions on your own and let you guide yourself to the place that feels right for you. Look forward to seeing you around! Meghan
Thanks everyone!
I'm so glad I found this forum!
Hi Amanda!
Welcome! I wouldn't worry about the 'lost time', I think transition happens when it is supposed to happen. Put your energy into moving forward in the way that is best for you, not in 'what might have beens'. That is about the best sage advice I can muster since I know little of nothing :-D
Again Welcome! :)

Nice to meet you Amanda!
Be seeing you around.
Welcome, Amanda.
You still have lots of years ahead of you. Many of us didn't admit who we were until our 50s or 60s.
Keep on trucking.
Robyn
