Title: Hi from a new lady
Post by: newlady on October 30, 2015, 06:30:13 PM
Hi,
Just like many I'm new here, I've finally joined this site and had the courage to start being the woman i really am, so many years of looking in the mirror and seeing a stranger looking back at me.
Ive been worried because i know I'm going to loose so many people, but I've realised i have to be me and if they don't accept that then its time to move on. i don't know how I'm going to move forward with my transition and i have to admit to being scared and feel on my own.
Im hoping this site and forums can help and keep me sane. I feel a sense of relief at joining here and starting to be myself, its been soooo long.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Feel free to join in on any conversation you want or start a new one your self. This site is good for medical information or fun and games. If you have any questions, feel free to ask because that's why we are here.

Hi Bernadette,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

It can be a bit scary at first, however the sooner you get to know this real you, the easier it becomes. There may be a few local organisations near you that can ease you into an accepting community. Try your local community health services.

It's a well know adage, that those that really care about you, don't bother how you present and those that bother, don't care.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Speak to you once I'm out of the hairdresser

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hello Bernadette, Welcome!
Glad you're here, there's always room for more.  This is a lovely family, same as you.  Don't be too sure of the people you're going to lose.  I have surprised myself finding that people in general are more willing than you think to accept someone who is authentically genuine with themself.  I am still working things out with my wife but she has stayed the course with me.  Wish everyone was as strong and loving as her.  So happy you've joined - share when you can! xo - Holly
