"The model shared the photos to draw attention to the discrimination many trans people still face.
Rudrani Chettri Chauhan – from Delhi – was on her way home from a dinner party with her boyfriend when they attack took place.
The pair – who were travelling by motorbike – were forced to pull over when three other riders pulled up next to them."
Horrible....Just horrible. No excuse, for any human being, a living breathing, person, to ever receive such treatment!
Its stuff like this why I even had second thoughts about coming out as trans. No, I am not a transwoman, but I feel as threatened as ever because I am still such a minority in society's narrow ass eyes.
1) I'm black
2) I'm biologically female/woman
3) I'm disabled(have major depression among a host of other mental ills, many physical ones too such as lupus nephritis which does require dialysis three days a week)
4) And to top that all off, I am transgender! XD
Why, just the other day when I walked to the barbershop, I overheard some rather, inconspicuously rude insults that seemed to be directed towards me and as if the idiots doing so wanted for me to hear. I mean, I suppose these bafoons could have been squandering anyone out there. But how come as soon as I was within range of wherever their ignoramus voices were originating from, that's when the short-lived insults began? Asking out loud, "Is it a female?!" As if anyone, including myself, would even truly want to return any real feedback to such idiocy! Such empty-mindedness like this must be tolerated every day it seems for the trans population. However, being ridiculed in this way greatly pales in comparison to this attack in the featured article here; the physical abuse that has now converted into emotional scars that may never vanish. I really feel for my trans sistas of color out there.....
Stay strong gals.
Peace and love....
