Title: Hi, new here.

Hi, my name is Dorian.
New to this site, just started gender counseling. First step.

This first step is where it started to become real. To openly verbalize about my dysphoria I have been living with for 40+ years really opened up a range of emotions. I feel so alone in my journey. I am hoping to find some understanding here.

What I mean by real is, I have lived in the shadows of the closet. I have kept my closely guarded secret my whole life. My dysphoria has always been real. It is consuming my focus to the point of finally coming to terms of who I am. I am finally taking actions. Seeking counseling and exploring hormone therapy has rocked my world. So many words to describe the emotions I am going through.........liberating, excited, scared, conflicted, buckle up, the one that stands out the most is "at peace".

Hi Dorian,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Just imagine what you'll be able to do, the heights you can reach, the new worlds you can now discover. Now that you have given up that all encompassing time and energy, guarding your closet. Liberation doesn't come close. You're on the verge of entering an unimaginable reality. You'll never regret it.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Speak to you as soon as I finish milking the cows

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Thank you Catherine for the warm welcome.
I look forward to having a place to just "be".
I have a chance to have a little girl time by getting up an hour or two early in the morning.
It is quiet and peaceful. The cost is the amount of sleep I get. When my dysphoria really kicks in, I have difficulty getting more than 4 or 5 hrs sleep. So I embrace the time, get some leggings on and work out while fully embracing my female essence.
I cherish that time.
I am calm, focused and content.
The downside is, eventually I have to get my jeans and workboots on. Head out the door to my manly man, man man job.
It is such a polar opposite for me.
My heart and soul is so out of place when I am work.
Ugg!
