Title: Pause in HRT to have kids, does it work? (MtF)
Post by: RebeckaJensen on November 10, 2015, 07:19:22 AM
Hi! I wonder if anyone has experiences in going on HRT and then taking a break to bank sperm or similar thing regarding having kids? Needs to know since I'm starting HRT soon but for different reasons cant bank sperm yet (Swedish system is complicated when it comes to these things)... So, is it true I can start HRT and then take a break for ca 3 months and then bank sperm? Has anyone done it?

Thanks for being The best community online, Love u girls! :)

I think it's risky and a gamble. Sperm health might be compromised on HRT (even short-term) and never recover.

Have you had any experience with this?

Your best bet is to see a reproductive specialist on this issue. Longer term cross sex hormonal exposure accumulates into less viable chance of conception/and leads into higher chance virilization due to effects estradiol has on gonads.
