Ok so I finally got the chance to see my Dr (been very busy lately) and get the time to talk about beginning to transition but it wasnt as helpful as I hoped. My Dr admitted that while there are plenty of patients that are transgender she has never had to help one transition before, tho she did say that if i can research who to go to she will gladly provide any referrals or other such things to help me along and that the sooner i get started the better overall.
This brings me to a new problem. Ive tried to google a Dr that specializes with helping patients transition but Im having trouble finding any especially in the NY/Bronx/Manhattan areas. Anyone have any tips or help on how to find one? Any info you provide would be great help. What to google or call or anything like that? I really wouldnt want to waste anyones time on this if I didnt have to but I feel a little lost so I figured it wouldnt hurt to just ask. Thanks everyone.

plannedparenthood might be another place...
Are you looking for a medical doctor or a mental health professional? I know there are multiple centers in NYC that offer HRT, and I'm sure they have the full gambit of services available.
Sorry for the delay. Im currently looking for medical doctor.
Also will look through links when I have a bit of extra time. Thanks.
Callen Lorde gets recommended a lot. They may have a wait to get started if there's a lot of demand, but I would start there.
Hi guys, just wanna show some appreciation for the help. Im going through a bit of a rough patch in my life right now and all this has gotten to be so stressful and confusing so I really cant say thank you enough for the advice. Im so nervous and scared but with the input I get from here as well as hearing how others are getting through this, it's just making this a bit more tolerable. :)

Well try to relax... as you said there are many others going through this, too...
and just remember its a step by step process... just do the next step...
wish you fun along the way :)
*hugs*
I haven't seen a bad thing said about http://callen-lorde.org/ (http://callen-lorde.org/)
For counseling I can recommend http://www.ipgcounseling.com/about-us (http://www.ipgcounseling.com/about-us) with 4 locations in the city. The people there are great and will likely work with you on $$$
BTW - living in "Trans Central", as my wife puts it, there are many LGBT resources on either side of the Hudson. In Jersey City there is also Hudson Pride(?) right off Journel Square I believe.
