Title: all dressed en femme, and then, man hands :(
Post by: melissa247 on November 16, 2015, 08:13:37 PM
well i had some time to dress completely the other day and was feeling quite pretty..makeup was spot on..had some very pretty clothes and was feeling quite lovely,then...dun dun DUNNNN..my man hands showed me the ugly truth that I am just a man not a lady..truly destroyed the moment..I have particularly big, even for a regular guy, large strong hands..and in man mode, being able to punch concrete walls without harming them is very macho..but in femme..very unlady like..so any advice on if there is a way to even if one transitions,if the hands ever become more femme..or do they stay permanently manly..kinda bummed. :embarrassed:

I'm not an expert, but IMO if you are crossdressing, a combination of fingerless gloves and painted nails could do the trick, no? It might even make your hands look outright cute. :) If that doesn't do the trick, gloves with fingers would still at least cover it up and not make it stick out like a sore thumb (heh heh)... there are some really nice feminine gloves out there - models also wear gloves quite often to enhance their look, so it wouldn't even be like covering up something ugly.

I wouldn't sweat it. My wife who was a cis woman had bigger hands than me! I find hands are the last thing people look at and unless you can hold a basketball in one hand like it was a baseball, then you have nothing to worry about! :-)

Love,
Clare

Covering one hand with the other when sitting and cupping your had by putting your thumb across your palm will help make your hands less noticeable. Sleeves long enough to cover part of your hand help as well. Most of the time it's misdirection or in my case, i no longer care so people look at my smile instead of my hands.

on that note.does transitioning change the hands at all..maybe slendering them or taking away the musculature of them in any way?

Some trans women report that going on HRT causes them to lose a shoe size, likely due to fat loss shrinking the overall size. I haven't heard of the same thing happening for hands, but it doesn't seem totally impossible. I would not count on it happening though. Just keep in mind that hand-size is just one small factor in how people gender you. Voice, hair, face, clothes, and secondary sex characteristics are way more important than hand size.

Long pretty fingernails lessens the large hand effect. I thought that my own hands weren't very feminine but some painted acrylic nails took care of that - it makes the fingers appear longer and draws attention away from the middle of the hand.
