.....are they safe? I use Nair and yes it stinks and is full of chemicals but.....it works! I see threads on here about shaving but have seen no mention of creams. Is there a reason for this? Shaving just doesn't work for me and really irritates my skin. Then there is stubble in 24-48 hours compared to a week with cream. I know there's an increased cost but for me its well worth it... Any ideas ladies??

If you can stand the pain try an Epilator instead. they hurt but they work! It's cleaner and less smelly than cream too.
I agree with Alice. Epilators are fantastic. I don't have one, though, so I wax my legs. I love the results and the skin is super healthy.
I have never thought of waxing i always thought it would be too time consuming for me.... Do you have any tips for waxing your legs??
The epillator sounds interesting to me.... Do you have any brand names that work well and information on where to buy? Also does an epillator remove hair permanently??

I have had about 5 or 6 different brands over the years and they all work well. Most supermarkets sell them. No, it's basically the same as waxing, it pulls the hairs out.

I have two different epilators. The first one I got was a CLIO. It worked but it seemed to take forever to clear the shrubbery. Many many passes. I recently bought an Emagine by Emjoi. It has a double head configuration with more tweezers and is much faster than the CLIO was. On the plus side for the CLIO, it was battery or cord operated. The Emagine is cord only and the power adapter could have had a few more feet of wire so I didn't have to sit next receptacle. Really, I usually use an extension cord.
The hair is not permanently removed. Some of it is when the follicle is damaged enough to not regrow, but it may take many years to eliminate most all of it. I have found that often the hair is not pulled out but broken off close. So the regrowth is very staggered with a little stubble appearing in a few days and major regrowth taking a week or more.

The emjoi gets really good reviews and seems the best value for money out there.....looks like I'll be shopping for one soon..... I hope they look girly......
