"Wal-Mart has a larger collection of lawsuits than men's suits.

They've got wage and hour lawsuits, gender discrimination lawsuits, disability discrimination lawsuits, racial discrimination lawsuits, and age discrimination lawsuits. The giant retailer has a small army of in-house lawyers and hired attorneys who defend the corporation from its own employees.

One of the "risk factors and uncertainties" that Wal-Mart lists in its 2015 annual report is the threat from "the outcome of legal and regulatory proceedings to which we are a party...""

Yes, as usual, TG tolerance policies lag behind the sexuality policies until they get called out on it. Everything has to be fought for. This is one of the inherent problems of achieving social acceptance for the TG situation, though. Gays are necessarily group-formers and therefore have activist power. TG people are less likely to assemble in groups (except at this forum) and therefore social progress is slower.

"Samantha Azzarano is a male to female transgender person who lives in Gloucester City, New Jersey, and worked at a Wal-Mart store in Deptford, New Jersey. The complaint was lodged against Wal-Mart and a member of upper management at the Deptford store. Azzarano, "although born biologically and anatomically male, identifies as a woman, and lives as a woman."

Hmm so far I haven't had any trouble since I came out at work. Of course the policy's changed sometime last year I can't recall when. It's been made very clear to me and others if anyone says something bad to me or to some one else they are terminated.

One thing that Walmart does horrible at is the managers not reading up on the new policy's. The ones that started this year were knowledgeable on the policy's but the older ones had no idea on some of the things and I had to read the policy to them pretty much. So a lot can be improved.

I haven't a clue which managers know I'm trans beyond my team manager and one other who's trans herself. Because she's been there so long she kinda broke trail for me. Cheers to her, BTW, she starts HRT with Callen Lorde on Monday.

Even though NJ has anti-discrimination laws for transgender individuals, it still has to be proven. I hope she wins her case. Since Wal-Mart has a good LGBT record and with New Jersey's Law, this is probably due to a transphobic manager.

Get them!!
I would like to note
that walmart or Brawlmart
as I would call it. They claim
to be LGBT respecting at that's
a lie. I know so many who worked
there and when I was a teen I did as well.
This is sad as Sam Walton would have
respected them as he was very much community
connected. The people running all the Walmart stores
now seems to not care about anyone but the people
shopping. Not the employees or the distributors.
I hope some day the companies like this will just
let people be who they feel they are.
