"An Ohio clinic recently made history when it began screening women for a groundbreaking medical procedure: transplanting a uterus into a woman who doesn't have one. Uterus transplants have been successfully carried out in Sweden, but the Cleveland Clinic's trials will mark the first time they've been carried out in the U.S."
An interesting concept. I don't think it's "me" as I never had the urge to have children. I don't mind them if they are other people's children, just never had the maternal/paternal instinct.

Clare

I heard the stem cell uterus and eggs will be available...by 2020...hope so, so I could be a mom...
Wow, this is pretty fascinating stuff.
it's like a dream, <3
i wish that in future, would be possible have a child growing inside me, feel how move and thing like that :D
If I were 18 I would consider this type of surgery seriously, but at 69 years old with having spent 43 years of raising my own children with 6 years left to go, and having taught school for 34 years, I really don't think that this surgery is for me. I have done my time dealing with children.
Please be true! Please be true! :)
WOW! that is amazing. Perhaps a little too early to get super excited about it. but it is another stride in medical research to help us all be the women we were meant to be. ;D
While this isn't something I have even considered, I am grateful nonetheless. Groundbreaking for sure!

I've always dreamed of such a thing because I so badly want to carry my own child.

"The first successful uterus transplant has taken place in the US.
The procedure took place at the Cleveland Clinic, which made the announcement that it could have many possible applications in future. "
Well, this is some progress. Isn't it amazing what science can do?
