As they saying goes, you learn something new everyday. Here I was thinking I'd done the most I could to care for my wig by washing and conditioning it weekly and keeping it brushed every day, etc. But because it is synthetic the heat from the back of my neck and even the friction from rubbing on my clothing has made the ends frizz a bit. I hadn't realised that was the cause but apparently so. And apparently steaming a synthetic wig is the best way to deal with that. This is great but also a bummer - great because it will breathe new life and silken softness back into it... and a bummer because it's yet another thing to skill up on and add to the "routine". Plus I need to get a steamer! Oh well.
Just sharing for those who might wear wigs and not be aware of this particular care tip.
Thank you, that is actually very helpful. I wear a wig when i'm me and I have wondered how to take care of it better. thank you. guess who's going steamin' tonight !?!?!
I'd recommend finding a video on youRube to give you an idea how it is done. I think it'll be easy enough once I get the hang of it but it's certainly more involved than just pointing a steamer at it like I thought before.
We need to swap notes.

Speak to you as soon as I shampoo my hair.
