"Today is Turkey Day, and you're trans. You know it's about to get tricky. Maybe it's the first Thanksgiving that you've been out to your family. Maybe you're a seasoned pro. Either way, if you're wondering what to expect, here are 8 things that are, well, definitely going to happen."
The only one that ever happened to me was #7, my Aunt Rose last year. She suffered from dimentia (she passed away a few months later). I had to keep explaining who I was.
I have many things to be thankful for, one of which is that none of these things happened to me today.
I had a thoroughly awesome, perfect turkey day with my family. Me being trans never came up. You know what was weird? My 74 year old dad plays video games and disappears into his man cave for hours at a time to play them. I thought he was doing ham radio...
I am SO sick of that "seventy-seven cents on the dollar" chestnut. There is a disparity between men and women with equal qualifications who do equal work...but it ain't any twenty-three cents.
P.S. At my Thanksgiving, nobody knew I'm trans. It was fabulous.
Rough day for me. I called me electrolysis lady friend to wish her a happy Thanksgiving. On her phone a message from her son saying she had passed away. I've been crying since then, oh my such a good friend....
No turkey for us in Australia. No awkward passive/aggressive family dinners either. We save all that for Xmas.

Sorry to hear that. :(
