...apparently an acquired skill. Mine look terrible! Does it ever get easier? Any tips on how to do it without painting your cuticles too?
have no fear it will get easier the more you do it. like you said it's an acquired skill. one thing I found that makes a big difference is using a good quality base coat first. the color coat seems to go on a lot easier over a good base.

it'll help if you put a toe separator between your toes. in time you will get your acquired skill. you can get toe separators aw walgreens , drug stores , grocery stores, cosmetic stores , just about anywhere
when you acquire your skill you will see how beautiful your toes are
ps maybe you are nervous
Have a nice day

I do toenail polish, but I am not good at painting. It easily spreads over the cuticle, and moreover unevenly. I thought nobody will pay attention to my toenails. But, girls are different. Some of them scrutinize my toenail polish and comment that it is not nicely done, recommending me to erase the polish completely before reapplying. But, I am a lazy person. I have no time to erase the polish. Just paint again over the remaining polish.

I just paint it on without worrying too much about missing, then erase the stuff that's outside the lines with a sponge with a tiny bit of polish remover. I think cotton works too, but the mere feel of a cotton ball in my fingers just freaks me out. I also don't remove old polish. I paint over it, sometimes months later.
what do you mean without painting the cuticle ???...you mean you shouldn't do that?...just kidding I have been painting mine for only a short while and use a very pale pink with a hint of glitter...been over three weeks since I started doing it on a full-time basis and not one single person has noticed or commented not even my wife!...throws her head in the air and huffs...makes you wonder why a girl bothers!! :D ;D

I remove my cuticles to get a clean look with polish. I know some girls push them back to try to get the look as well.
