Done in a very sympathetic manner but the subjects were the same two kids I've seen in other documentaries and I would have liked to see someone else. That FTM boy of 16 or 17 has gotten a lot of support from his parents and I would have liked to see someone working out difficulties. In fact, the MTF, didn't get support from her family and they really didn't delve into it. Still, a positive representation including Marci Bowers.
I had only seen Jake before but not Angelica. I was really touched by her story. I wonder why she's not on estrogen. They only mentioned "testosterone blockers". All in all I think she has it together. :)
The only rant about it....

AMEN! Dr. B has been in front of cameras many times and her comfort and control show. Also, she knows to answer the question that needs answering, not the question the interviewer asks (media relations 101...).
Oprah seemed a bit too hung up on the gay angle, especially when Josh mentioned he thought he was lesbian at first (that seems to be a typical FtM self-acceptance arc, while there seem to be far fewer MtFs that thought they were gay on the way to their epiphany.) Marci explained the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity, even though that wasn't really what Oprah had asked.
AND! There's another transgender show on in two weeks. It may be sensationalized, though, as it's about trans-girls who are still married to their wives... (are we close to ratings-sweeps or something?)
