For me there are so many aspects of living my true self, from clothes to presentation to how other woman react to me an how children react seeing me as female compared to my past life. For me one of the most fun things I'm encountering is how men react to me. Sexually I'm bisexual. I'm finding it so interesting to dress feminine and be appreciated by men as a woman. It's so totally different from presenting as a male. I admit a lot of men do nothing for me , but the ones that do . I love being treated gently .
I was in the hospital a while back for an operation and one of the doctors talked to me so sweetly I melted. I was at the health clinic yesterday waiting in a room for my doctor and this guy who either was a doctor or a nurse popped his head in and saw me and said that he definitely had the wrong room and apologized. He stood there looking in my eyes so sweetly. Then there are my little hang ups , cops. I love a tall strong masculine man in a police uniform. It just drives me bonkers. There was a handsome cop a few days ago that goes to the coffee place I go for my wifi He looked at me and gave me such a cute smile. I'm just finding this adventure quite exciting.
Thats amazing. You are beautiful... I dont know why guys are sweeter to women in general but they are.
Id imagine its not the reactions that I will enjoy the most... But the freedom to be feminine all day long. To be girly. Its the no restrictions aspect. To be myself. To wear pink and reds. To have long hair. To look into a guy and be ask out on a date... Not on a blue moon "I want to have sex with you only". To meet real men. To find true love. To get married. To die in the arms of my true love.

Stephanie, that is wonderful. For me it is just being able to live as my authentic gender and for the most part do so without judgment from others. I can freely go while wearing what clothes and related items i want to along with where I want to. There isn't anything more exciting than that for me. Hugs

I agree with Mariah2014, just to be able to be myself knowing that I won't have to lie anymore or that I won't have to think how to react every time, that's the best feeling. It is also really excited when I go to client meetings and they look at me and talk to me and the only thing they can see is a woman looking back at them!! That's a really excited and amazing feeling!!!

Yes , freedom to be, it's great. I'm sitting right now at a Subway sandwich shop on the ground level of my apartment building across the street from the University in my pink dress with all the college students coming and going and nobody giving me the evil eye.

Expressing my femininity and being treated like a lady is the most exciting aspect for me.
I am really girlie when it comes to dressing, i love to wear clothing that expresses my femininity, I wear lots of dresses or skirts, i love wearing high heels, i wear makeup, paint my nails. I celebrate being a woman in the way I dress. I also love to wear sexy lingerie and I am a bit of g-string/thong junkie.. but these parts of my femininity is just for me and my boyfriend.
Other ways to express my femininity, I love my long hair and love to style it. I have pieced ears, navel and nose and get to show off my piercing in summer when i wear my bikini. I also have 3 tattoo's, lovely feminine designs, one on my lower back, lower stomach and on my left ankle. Do want more, I want a total of 6 tattoo's... maybe one on my shoulder blade, my wrist and i dunno where the 6th one must be.
all the thing above appear superficial, but i get to show off on the outside, how I feel on the inside and I love to celebrate this.
I remember the first time I got flowers was amazing and a gentle man opening a door for me feels nice.
it doesn't sound superficial to me.
Finally being able to be myself.
Finally being accepted and treated by other women as one of them.
No longer being a gangly, awkward and desperately unhappy and frustrated person.
FINALLY happy to greet each day with more enthusiasm than I think I've ever had before.

Now .... freedom.

My male management team treating me as if my IQ has decreased by 100 :laugh:

My boyfriend.
My wife.
My family.
Acceptance by myself and by others.
No longer wanting to die.

Yeah, I'm greeted by name at a number of shops/cafes too. I have to say it threw me for a six at first, I was definitely not used to people, especially women, treating me with such enthusiasm. Used to it now. It's nice!
To finally be able to express my gender freely by wearing what I want and just be me and not to feel that I am pretending to be someone else. I love my make up and be able to wear it with confidence and have someone appreciate it. Lastly, to be seen by everyone as a woman and be treated with kindness and respect.
Like a breath of fresh air.
To be free of the cage of hiding your true self is quite the feeling.

Maybe exciting isn't the word for what you asking about for me.Content,centred and quite ordinary are how I feel.It's nice to not be misgendered pointed at etc but mostly just getting on with my life.
This board would be a lot less interesting without Stephanie bringing up all these nice little talking points. Thank you for your tireless, pondering mind haha :D

Exactly! Me too! No need or worry about being who I am. I can just be....and it's easier to just be rather than try to be someone else (which I did for 28 yrs before transition)

I have to say that I'm proud of all of you here as there is no better feeling than being who you truly are Inside and out. The other thing as you all must have noticed. If you know who your true self is than you forget the old you. Your state of mind will never allow you to be clocked. At least that is what I have found. I'm a women threw and threw out!

Having the freedom to be me 24/7 and generally being accepted. It is a process that is ever evolving and changing, and that is exciting.
Being Who I am and being seeing by others as who I really am. Now I am the "crazy outgoing funny friendly adventurous and sometimes mean >:-)" gal who I felt inside since the day I can remember. Good Bad and Worse, finallyI am who I am
Excitement about the new has vanished. I am just feeling alive now that I am living my life full time.
So, what are the moments I feel most alive. Talking. It is about finally having the 'right' to use the right intonations, but in big part about facial expressions. Eyebrows, cheeks, smiles, tilting etc. It all comes out finally and that is how a bite of freedom tastes.
Before, I didn't wish to even look people in the eye while talking with them. Head down. Now I have my sight up again. It is a big change. While my misanthropy generally didn't change, my loving self definitely increased.
So I will call it social/business interaction.
This is kind of an ironic question, for me, because I am currently going through a journaling prompt about 2015 and what it taught me.
And acknowledging that I am transgender is a huge huge part of that. So while I have a long way to go before I fully transition and become Sarah, I am making the small internal steps that are so vastly important.
My therapist put it as that I am putting down a foundation or roots into who I am going to be.
Hi All
I think that being who I am in side and out and feeling of being relaxed with your inner most feeling and spirt. I also have gained very good listening skills to someones needs other than my own and having a much bigger heart. I just feel good all over and threw out.
I'm wondering If anyone else feels like this?
