Title: Question about 1 year lab results
Post by: Eyie on December 04, 2015, 11:45:30 PM
Hey all,
I just had a quick question after getting my lab results back for my 1 year hrt appointment. I know levels and all that isn't allowed to be discussed but jeez are my t levels still so so high. Is this normal? Did it take any of you like a good long while to lower your testosterone. I was so sure it would be wayyyyy lower this time and was sadly disappointed.  :-\

Did you ask your endocrinologist about the results? I know sometimes people feel that their levels are high when that's not really the case (ie, it's within norms) - at any rate the endo might be able to offer suggestions and investigate possible alternatives if they are indeed too high.

I will say something.

There are a few members who are qualified to give medical advice but they won't because of ethical reasons.

Unqualified advice isn't worth the paper it isn't written on!

People are complex and altering hormonal levels is a medical issue that needs care and experience. Most people have few problems, but those who do really need expert advice from their endocrinologist who can take in all the factors that may be influencing the outcomes.

You need to talk to your doctor he or she is the only one that can determine that

O I didn't realize saying levels was oh k. :P My doctor himself said it was pretty high and asked me if I wanted to increase my spiro and of course I said yes. When I started a year ago My t was already in the high range at like 775 ng/dl and now it's only gone down to 509. I know I've read it takes awhile to drop t levels but jeez!!!

Mine started at 826, after three months 158 and after nine months 120.  At that point we doubled my spiro dose.

I would talk to your Dr about it because that looks pretty high to me.

Spiro also weakly blocks testosterone.

Some things are more effective than others, maybe ask about alternatives? My t levels are equivalent to surgical castration, after I got switched from one blocker to another.could probably do with a supplement to be honest..It's good to have some testosterone.

Sound like you need to talk to your doctor he or she should be able to answer that for you.
