Title: Today is my Re-birthday! 1st day of HRT
Post by: MichaelaLJ1972 on December 10, 2015, 10:10:10 AM
I went to the doctor a couple days ago to get my lab results. I had psyched myself up for bad news, but instead I got some rather enlightening news. It appears that my testosterone levels were at the very low end of normal and my estrogen levels were at the lower end of above normal. So, I guess that means I've had a battle going on in my body. My doctor and I discussed how I wanted to proceed and we went over everything. She's admitted that she has limited experience, but I'm ok with that because she's probably the most attentive and understanding doctor I've ever been to in my life. I'm also working with two separate therapists, so they will definitely be a great deal of help along the way.

I'm of course starting on "low dose", for what that's worth. As I know, YMMV and even what's considered "low dose" is rather meaningless.

So, today is not only my actual birthday, but it's my re-birthday... exactly what I wanted it to be. I'm 43 years old and finally taking control of my life. Here's to the journey!  :)

I know this is probably just placebo, but I feel calmer than I've ever felt. I think it's just because I finally jumped over that first major hurdle. It feels really good and I can't wait to go back in a couple months to have my labs done to see how I'm progressing :)

I do have to thank everyone on these forums because you have all been such a wonderful source of information and support. One of these days, I'll figure out pictures and I'll put them up :)
