Hi everyone—I've been listening in as a guest from quite some time now, but I don't get to come by very often so I haven't taken the time to introduce myself. Until now.

I'm 46, and a MtF-in the making. While I've been known to my wife since we met (telling her being one of the smartest/scariest things I've done), and been "getting ready" for almost as long (starting my own work-from-home practice, saving up money where I could), I've only recently started coming out to other people. And once I did that, well...whoosh!
(And lots of "ow"...laser and electro.)
My youngest is a freshman in high school, and we'd like stay stealth around town until he graduates, just so we don't have to worry about a closed-minded person making it an issue for him. So we're trying to balance "full speed ahead!" with this 3.5 year window we're in. I've been reading up on low-dose HRT and have an appointment at Mazzoni next week, but I'll probably have more questions as well.
(And voice questions too, because I haven't made much headway with that *at all*, and it's probably the part that bugs me out the most.)

Thanks everyone! Dena, I will take you up on that, though I will ask in a more appropriate forum. I am listening through Fundamentals and FYFV again, but I still need to find a time/place to practice regularly.
