"PIERCE CO., Wash. —
The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap counties dropped a policy on Thursday that asked transgender members to use private bathrooms.

YMCAs are now allowing transgendered people to use the locker room that matches the gender with which they identify."

There seems to be a pattern for a lot of these cases:

1. Management ignorantly sets uninformed guidelines for trans people.
2. There's a backlash.
3. Management belatedly educates itself.
4. Policy is reversed.

We saw the same thing in the Australian Women's festival also reported today.

If only management would take the trouble to educate themselves before hand, all these cases would be avoided.
