Title: Struggling in my debate on phytoestrogens
Post by: MtFGenderQueer on December 27, 2015, 02:08:33 AM
Hi,
so I decided to give phytoestrogens a try. I want to feel better hormonally and I want to induce female changes . I want soft skin , a bit of breast growth , a fuller butt and widening hips , softer facial features and lowered sexdrive.

I am not going to use weak phytoestrogens as those tend to be placebo .
I want to use phytoestrogens for now to transition on a more calm rythm . However I want to be able to expect realistic changes from it .

Which of these phytoestrogens tends to work best?
Do these phytoestrogens often cause realistic changes when used long enough ( 1 year at least ) ?

I once used black cohosh.  I did get some visible changes but they were limited.  I guess realistic depends upon what you mean.  I did not get full development nor were they really compatible to HRT.  Also, if I remember correctly, I did not really get the mental changes/relief that HRT later provided.  I never tried the ones you mentioned, except for consuming hops in beer, so I can't comment on them.

I finally stopped using the black cohosh because it started giving me daily, nearly debilitating, migraine headaches.

While the discussion of use of phytoestrogens is allowed the use of the ones named are not.

In general phytoestrogen will not achieve anything like the affect of HRT and open you to health risk

See an endocrinologist please.

Some people have royally screwed up their system using too many or the wrong herbals, they can cause damage to liver and worse.

Usually in double blind studies they have no effect, only maximising income for some companys.

Some herbals may have effects but often enough unwanted effects.

I strongly suggest to see a MD and start hrt with AA and bioidentical hormons.

My diagnostics is still to be re-done.

In a period of two to three weeks I have been vigorously consuming flax seed. To the consumption I attribute increased sense of smell, being a lot calmer, and much lower libido. That is what I remember.

The reason I stopped is that I also started feeling less healthy and there was a feeling hard to describe, like I am 'full of it'. Meaning flax seed. It felt toxic, like I am being poisoned by it. Worrying about damaging the liver came on its own, so I listened to my body. I stopped and won't return there.

Later on I was diagnosed with fatty liver during an ultrasound search for kidney stones. Of course I can't blame flax seed alone, as I was still recovering from being overweight, having come long way down from brink of obesity, was having way more alcohol than usual (my usual is zero), and was abusing coffee heavily (over 5 cups a day). Was also taking some vitaminal pills.

Following that I had spent two months with zero coffee intake and zero all-of-the-above intake. Oh my, caffeine withdrawal was a real b*tch, four days of heavy headaches. I think a glass of a brandy broke the ice first after this period. I got back to coffee after three to four months of abstinence. But high moderation. Right now I take two cups at most, often zero. Plan is to go to four months off it again. Probably starting tomorrow (I 'love' hard Mondays without coffee, they test the will).

The thing is, I was abusing multiple products. But only flax seed made me really feel being poisoned. So, won't be using it again. Likely no other phyto as well.

About the liver, I am still pending a checkup. I hope the situation improved.

I think its just like anything, people are told its natural and safe so they start cramming it down their throats with no regard for their safety.

Regardless i am not under an umbrella of fear when i take my phyto estrogen and my anti dht herbs, i do so responsibly. At first i took half the reccomended dosage on the bottle and slowly switched to the full dosage, nothing more this way i could see if i had my adverse effects before i kicked i to high gear.

Remember more isnt always better and can be dangerous especially with saw palmetto, which as a side effect thins your blood so it can not and should not be taken with heart medication, viagra etc..

Before you begin to take any forn of herb i strongly recommend you look up each individual side effect and if your on prescribed meds see if it has interactions with them.

If youd like any tips or info feel free to pm me as the herbal discussions around here are heavily biased due to i think some big fight in the past.

Just be safe and do your research, essentially taking herbs is self medicating which is very bad 99% of the time.

I've never used herbals mostly because I assuming they don't work because if they did people wouldn't waste the time seeing a doctor. I no nothing of herbals honestly , I just feel if you want the things you want, estrogen is what nature uses to get those effects and the most safe and effective way to get those effects are by seeing a doctor so your system doesn't go out of whack.

Considering this thread has been cleaned up once already and then something that looks a lot like a TOS 2 violation in regards to one particular Herbal. Thread Locked.
