Title: Name change process... got "femaled" :)
Post by: MugwortPsychonaut on January 01, 2016, 05:21:45 PM
I was at a police station getting my fingerprints taken for my name change. I had to explain to a couple of cops for like fifteen minutes what the hell I was talking about. They weren't the brightest bulbs in the drawer.

Eventually I went inside and we proceeded with my fingerprince. I gave the cop my ID which has my boy name and gender marked with an M. As he was typing all my info into the computer, reading my ID mind you, he still entered my gender as "female!" Ha!    I had to tell him, "No, my legal gender is still male."

Love you all.

Fantastic! good luck.

I submitted my info to Mazzoni legal for them to make the decree paperwork. I will be doing the process soon enough.

Mine went through an attorney. He handled all the legal mess. I'm glad I did, because I've had to use the documents since then.

Some people just don't get it. As difficult as it is to imagine in this day and age, there are still some people who haven't heard of transgendered people. We are used to it because we had to take a crash course, but never assume others know anything about it, or even want to.

About a year after I had all my surgeries done, I developed a severe UTI. When I went into the emergency room, the Dr. said he had to do a prostate exam. I explained to him that I was a transgender and didn't now, nor had I ever had a prostate. He replied that he had to do one anyway. That is kind of like asking someone without an arm to do a test on their grip on the side without the arm. You will always run into things like that from time to time. Just try not to let it get to you.
