I'm stuck in the hinterlands of Georgia and while my town is one of the largest in the state the LBGT population here is well hidden and secretive.
So, are there any trans support groups that meet anywhere? I'm assuming that if there is they are in Atlanta.
If there is, are they worthwhile to attend? I only ask that because if I were to go it's a two hour drive one way so it's s pretty significant time investment.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help

I'm in Columbus. It's still 1955 here! LOL.
It's not really that bad but sometimes it seems like it.

Deborah, Atlanta Gender Explorations is one of the best open support groups in Atlanta. I attended some meetings years ago when they still met at my church and may start attending again. Their website is atlantagender.org. I don't know if she still does but my therapist used to moderate some of the meetings. The meeting location is not given out in any public information but it's in Southeast Atlanta and not that far off I-85 so you don't have to go into or through downtown. Just inquire of the email addresses on the website and they will tell you where it is. They usually meet second Saturday of each month from 6-8PM and go out to dinner afterwards. Next meeting is tomorrow.
I would be interested to find out also. I am in Hartwell.
Thank for the AGE link. I just requested membership to the group. If I can't get up there tomorrow I'll be sure to next month.

If you do next month, let me know and I'll go with you.
Thanks. That would be great and help a lot with the nervousness I always get with meeting new people.

Deborah "Erin K. Swenson" is probably the most well known and popular her website and Facebook pages are here:

Been a while for me because simply too busy but she has all the professional contacts you may need!
Have attended "AGE" meetings in the past as well.
I may look into these as well. I'm in Alabama, but my endo is in Atlanta. For me it would be just as close to go there as it would to go to the ones in my state.
