This was a funny one I dreamed last night. I was at a social event and my father was there too. He started referring to me as "he" when talking to some people. They looked at him confused, they had no idea who he was talking about since they only knew me as a "she". I intervened on his behalf, saying my dad often gets confused and I think he finally realised he was fighting a losing battle, that I was so obviously female - and he'd just made a huge fool of himself... he said "sorry, Grace"... Wow, what a feeling!
Now for it to happen in real life! :D
congrats on the premonition
Dreams can be such wonderful teases.
Hope real life gets the message and catches up <3
I remain hopeful! At the moment he actually doesn't call me by either my old or current name. He just calls me "mate", and while that usually a thing guys in Australia call each other (meaning friend, buddy) it is also used between men and women, and between women to mean the same thing. So I'm OK with that. As far as I can tell he seems to avoid using pronouns for me at all when I've been around. He's received the message that I didn't appreciate being called by male name or by male pronouns, he's acknowledged that to a degree with some respect, but he's not willing to fully concede on the issue.
Well that's progress! I'm a kiwi, plenty of mates thrown around down here too :D (also bro, not sure how to feel about it but it's used as surprisingly gender neutral here)
My dad tells people he has one son, two daughters and a saughter. Cause I'm sorta his daughter.
I'd be offended if it wasn't such a dad joke.
..........what would you do if he calls you "Gracie"!! ( I know you looooove that version of your name! ;))
A couple of women at work have called me Gracie, they both have a niece named Grace who they call Gracie so it slips out without them thinking about it. I find I don't mind it as much as I thought I would. I'd be OK with my dad using it. :)
That's good. I hope it happens.
Fingers crossed Grace! Hugs Xxx
Dreams can come true - some of yours already have!
May this one come true for you too, Grace.
Love,
