"The second series will see Judy – played by trans actress Rebecca Root – befriend a young trans man, while Leo embraces the world of work.
The show will begin shooting in Manchester next month.
"This series demonstrates comedy's unique ability to bring insight, warmth and understanding to challenging subjects, and encapsulates the three bedrocks of the BBC's duty to inform, educate and entertain," the BBC's Shane Allen said of the show's return."
