This is for guys who've got facial hair already.
Anyway, I'm a year and 4 months on t. I've been getting decent facial hair as of the past 4 ish months. I'm actually a member on a cis male beard board to help answer some questions and help with growing.
But, as of right now I have a REALLY solid beard on the left side of my face. It looks really nice. Still needs more growing to fill in but it looks great, while my right side looks like crap.
I have full side burns and could pull off probably mutton chops on my left side but my right side has no full side burns, and looks like its not filled in much and doesn't match the left side of my face very much.
Has anyone else had a probably where one side is doing better than the other?
This seems like a fairly common thing. I'm just starting to get a few beard hairs on my cheeks and my sideburns are getting more visible, but my left side is a little more advanced than my right side. I think it'll even out over time and you pretty much have to wait it out.
Mine is still a bit patchy but it's definitely getting thicker. I had the same problems with one side growing more than the other. I never shave and only trim when necessary. I use beard oils or beard pomades to keep it soft and to keep the hairs from sticking out all over the place.
Grave Before Shave is a great brand for facial hair products. Their stuff is a little pricey but they are definitely worth it. I also recommend getting a little beard comb too :)
I've also got a similar issue.
I have really decent growth on both sides but hardly anything down the center. There's a little bit starting to come through, but I haven't tried to grow it out much because I worry it would look stupid!
I have it on both sides of my face, but nothing connects. There is a pretty noticeable gap between my side burns and my neck/chin hair on both sides. I'm sure it'll take some time for everything to even out.
Five years on T and I still have patchy, uneven, fine hairs on the sides of my face. I have been able to grow a fairly decent goatee for the past 2 years, but the sideburns are thin and there is a gap on the sides where just a few fine blonde hairs grow. My left side seems to grow thicker than the right. It looks rather silly, but I am still trying to grow it out.
A word of encouragement to anyone with slow developing facial hair. Back before I ever did anything about this whole trans thing, and after I went through puberty, it took me over 20 years on T before I could even start thinking about a half decent mustache and beard. Eventually it got there but even then it needed the help of some hair dye to look good. LOL. (That last part was always a secret). So some it may come quickly and for others it might just naturally take a long time, just like with everyone else.

I'm glad other people have the same issues. I feel like I have really decent genes that are helping me out with my growth. I mostly trim it, but on another board I'm on they have told me to grow it out for 3 months and try not to touch it much. but I'm just going to throw in some pictures for you guys to check out. My right side just really bothers me.
I also want to note on the right side that the lady that cut my hair, cut my side burns at the top by my hair so those are growing in still lol

I didn't have a whole lot when I first started. The thing I've always wanted most from Testosterone was a beard tbh. You really gotta will it out and let it grow! Put the razor down you don't need it. "If you shave it grows thicker!" Lies. All of em. Don't fall for that ever. Does your leg hair become beard thick after you shave it? No not once.
I put the razor down in August and I've been growing since then with some trimming work. Here's a timeline!

Those really long white hairs are called "Transitional Hairs" They're the teenager when it comes to beard hair. Most will turn terminal when given time!!!! DONT GIVE UP
I'm sorry for all of these too close for comfort pictures.
I just really wanna give y'all hope.
I ALSO USE: .:*~SUPER COLLAGEN PLUS~*:.

I bought it in December and my beard exploded. Might not work for you but it's worth a shot!
KEEP ON BEARDING!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!
I'm so sorry this is so long
Rengar's facial hair gives me hope :D
This is what my beard looks like at a distance btw!
As you can see (you cant see it) it looks MUCH fuller up close.
But that all takes time! I'll get there and so will you!

I've tried monoxidile and it usually makes me break out so I haven't used it as much. I used it once within this or last month and never used it consistently. but I think it did kick start my beard.
I also rub a little bit of t on every time i get a shot in the weak spots. tbh Idk if that helps at all lol. But I'll try the vitamin c!
I haven't shaved since around june-ish 2015 and i mostly just plan on trimming. I've noticed over the past couple months a lot of transitional hairs popping up and such. sometimes I get no transitional hairs and they just come in dark straight away.
From all of my research I've learned that Minoxidil CAN jump start/produce significant hair growth but only while you're using it. Unfortunately it's all a matter of genes. I'm lucky enough to have gotten my mother's side of the beard spectrum. My father's side is English/French/Mexican while my mother's side is heavy Italian and Irish.
I wouldn't think rubbing testosterone on your face would cause anything more than increased acne due to all that oil on your face! I could be wrong though. But I would stop doing it.
Zooming in on the pictures you've provided shows me that you've got quite a few transitional hair coming in as well as vellus hair on your chin. Look at your left cheek. See those darker hairs? I had those too. They got super dark and thick within about 3 - 6 months of appearing.
Growing a beard is a waiting game that you and I intend to win. Be patient my son! You too will be a beast.
Ugh, minoxidil makes me break out too! I wish I could just let it grow! I'm interviewing for multiple jobs right now and didn't think they'd be too impressed with my puberty beard. And one of those won't let me have anything more than a mustache unfortunately :(
Thinking about our timelines recently and I'd like to point out that I'm only about 4 months ahead of you in the Testosterone timeline!
Look at my June pictures! Those give a pretty good representation of where I was at your stage :^)! Not a whole lot there and you've got even more than I did!
Keep on bearding. You'll have some substantial growth in the next 6 months.
I read 4-5 people say their beard came in on the left side first. That is what is happening with me. I had hair growth on every part of my body first. It has been weird.
I have a pretty solid mustache and some chin hair. Over the last two months I am not sure how much I have, however, because I consistently shave. I have a professional, white collar job, so I am always dressed up. Letting it grow to see what happens just isn't an option.

Huh. My beard is coming in more on the left, too. It is coming in on the right, but it's sparser, and uneven. I'd love to let it grow for a couple of months to see what it actually looks like, but scruff is a
really bad look for a geezer.

I went to a concert last night and saw sooo many grey- or white-haired guys rocking great, thick beards, and I was pretty jealous. I just hope I get to that point before I go completely bald.
The general unevenness is weird. I have decent hair on my right forearm, not so much on the left. Same for other areas.

For curiosity's sake (and bc I'm having surgery soon and collagen's good for your skin and I'd like my skin in the best possible condition so my scars can be nice) I got some of this over the weekend. The bottle says three pills twice a day, but that sounds a bit... a lot. Did you take six a day? So far I've been taking two so the bottle'll last longer. What would you recommend?

Yeah I take the six. It's a lot sure but I've surprisingly got a lot of results with it. It's a month's supply with six and it costs about 12$ at the store I work at so 12$ a month isn't bad imo. I had some really bad chicken skin on my arms and it's seemed to have died down since I took it.
If you want results I'd take the 6 tbh.

Fair 'nuff. I don't mind taking the six (already take lots of other pills :p ) especially if it works.
