I've been referred for a bone density scan that's coming up in the next few weeks, and I'm not sure why. The same day I'm having my endocrinologist appointment, and they're both referrals from the gender clinic so I'm guessing it's to do with future treatment, but not sure exactly why it's needed.
Any input is welcome, thanks in advance
That would be a really good thing to ask your referring doctor. I could see it for someone who was MTF but testosterone increases bone density.
As I understand it, hormones play a role in osteoporosis and they may want to see if you're predisposed to it?
Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor but dammit I love playing one!
