Title: Moving to Indiana, need new resources
Post by: bxcellent2eo on January 28, 2016, 09:23:41 PM
Hello,

So I lived in Indiana for 27 years before relocating to California for the last two years. After not finding much success, my family and friends are offering to help me move back and give me a place to stay, so I can get back on my feet.

Thing is, when I left Indiana, there was no health insurance for low-income people. All that was available was a town free clinic, but they provided minimal care and deemed transgender care as unnecessary. (that's when I started self-medicating) Apparently, Indiana has finally expanded Medicaid under Obamacare, and I'm pretty sure I qualify.

Now I'm wondering if anyone knows which health plan I should choose to get the best care (hormones, prescriptions), and if I could get a recommendation for a trans-friendly doctor in or around Shelbyville.

Indiana Transgender Network has a pretty good list of resources in the state.
here is a map they posted of all known trans resources in the state known at the time of the last update.
