So I have a question to ask for those that have gotten the surgery, after the operation and you are going to leave the hospital; what clothing do you best recommend? Just want to make sure I pack appropriately, will jeans do or are skirts better?
Thank you!
You will still have to wear a thick sanitary pad, so something loose (sweat pants?) Or skirt will do. Jeans is ok as long as it is not the tight ones.

I REALLY wanted a skirt for the trip home, especially; anything with a crotch to it may put pressure on the site in long car/plane rides. Sweat pants or very loose pants might be OK, though. I couldn't wear jeans, even loose ones, for something like 3 months post-op.
(Though I was sent home at about 8 days post-op. Leaving the hospital, I wore a nightgown. ;) )
Considering I was sporting a catheter and urine bottle strapped to my leg. The black flared/pleated? knee length skirt I walked in made even more sense when it came time to leaving the hospital.
Wearing jeans on assignment was painful at 4 weeks post-op. I was OK at 6 month mark. Not a big fan of jeans.

I took a skirt, a pair of loose jeans, and a pair of tight jeans with me to the hospital. I had a bus ride to the airport to look forward to as well as two separate flights to get home. As it turned out, I felt most comfortable in the tight jeans. They sort of held me together. They sent me home with a donut to sit on but I used that as a head rest on the flights home.
The trip home was exhausting and although the distance was relatively short, the multiple trips, getting on and off transports, walking, waiting, etc. took all day.
My advice is to be prepared for any situation. It's not that much extra to take.

I wore track pants, I took far to many clothes to hospital
I think loose clothes are a good advice.
Thight jeans are definatly not recommendable, same with other tight clothes that press on that 'area'.
I had many clothes with me but needed no one except sweat pants.
