Title: Initiating SRS in Thailand?
Post by: Stella Sophia on February 02, 2016, 10:05:07 PM
Hello Ladies,

I have been actively seeking information on having my SRS done this year, I would like to keep it in the U.S. where I live if possible, but I'd like to keep my doors open. I have heard a lot of wonder stories as well as horror stories about Thai doctors.

How would I go about setting something like this up with one of them? Are their any criteria needed or anything special in regards? Pros and Cons?

Thanks in advance!

Stella

Hi,

Medical tourism in Thailand is big business. I lived over there for 1 year and many westerners go there for a variety of issues, including srs. Just make sure you find a reputable doctor to do your srs, and remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I will say that Bumrungrad hospital is one of the nicest hospitals I have ever been in.

Good morning or sometbing,

I'm leaving this Saturday for surgery with Dr Suporn. I initially contacted them through email from their website. It has a lot of the information and requirements they ask for. Have a great day.

Heard a lot of good things about Dr. Suporn. Recovery is tough and long but worthwhile. Good luck Sunhawk. :)

Given that I had SRS with Dr. Suporn and am very happy with the results, I recommend him. I can't comment on other surgeons but a friend of mine went to Thailand for SRS, had surgery with a different surgeon, paid less than half of what Dr. Suporn costs and has had many complications. So, keep in mind that cheaper is not always better. Best of luck!
