Title: I have a top-op question for anyone who might know
Post by: AlexanderMiles on February 14, 2016, 11:19:02 PM
Hey guys. Maybe some of you folks remember me but maybe not. Regardless.  I've got a small question. Nothing too concerned. I just had my top op last Thursday and was noticing that one of my drains is already draining clear and a lot less than the other one is. I was wondering if this was normal. The other is draining less than it was when I first got it done, but, it's still draining a significant amount. Thanks!

I barely drained at all to the point I probably did not need drains. Just check to make sure there isn't a clot in the tube but you are probably okay.

My drains were pretty much useless after day 3. Everybody has a different amount of fluid that they generate. I wouldn't worry about it unless there is a noticeable difference in size from one side to the other (as in, you are retaining fluid on the side of your chest that is not draining).

I believe my left side drained less than my right. My left side was also very swollen and bruised. Everyone will be different. Some guys don't get much fluid, some get A LOT more. Anyways congrats though the hard part is done ;)
