I told my dad I wanted to take T, so I could be recognized as a guy, and he said I could not get it before puberty. Is this true?
No, I don't think so. That is what hormone blockers are for, so trans people can go through the right puberty and then the results will be MUCH better rather than if you were already developed. I think it would prevent many, many, dysphoric-triggering things such as your chest and body shape. I also think you would grow taller than if you were to go through female puberty. Going through JUST male puberty is super ideal and amazing. You should take your dad to a doctor for a confirmation, I COULD be wrong, but your dad could be too. Check to see if hormone blockers are available in your country (they aren't legal here in Australia yet). You're very lucky to be out and educated at this age. Good luck.
It does depend where you live if it's legal or not. Pretty sure in USA it's legal because I've seen many documentary's there using hormone blockers.
Thanks!
I think the key phrase here is "before puberty." As taking T or E will bring on puberty, and if you are not yet of that age, then wait a bit.
At least your father seems agreeable to the whole idea.
Welcome to Susan's Place OMEimaguy. The information you have received is pretty sound but I would like to add that in many places you need to be considered an adult before you can receive surgery or hormone treatment that will permanently alter your body. Puberty blocker are reversible so they buy you time to reach legal age without any changes that need to be undone. These didn't exist when I transitioned so I had to undo about 14 years of hormone damage. Ask your father and your doctor when it will be possible for you to start on the blockers.

Hi and welcome,
You need your Dad to get a referral for you to a paediatric gender clinic. There should be one in a large hospital near you. We have a specialised unit in Australia, there yo will receive counselling and be put under proper medical care. Without very special circumstances people are not put on cross sex hormones before they are 16 and more often 18. However you may be put on puberty blockers just before puberty starts; you need careful and ongoing medical assessment for this.
QuotePretty sure in USA it's legal because I've seen many documentary's there using hormone blockers.
It is legal in the US, typically people under the age of 16 will be put on just hormone blockers for a while (I guess it's like testing the waters before the changes are given) and then given the hormone as long as consent is given by the parent(s) even if they are still under the age of 16.
Even if they did allow you to start T before starting puberty, I don't know how good of an idea it'd be. For younger people, they like to wait until you're pretty much as developed as you're gonna get. I was able to start T when I was 15 because I was an early bloomer, so all the changes that happen with female puberty had pretty much already reached their peak and blockers would be pretty much pointless. Like everyone else has said, I think it's in your best interest to look into getting on blockers.
You do not want to go through "female" puberty so if your dad thinks you have to go through female and then go through male he is incorrect. Blockers are for those FTM that have not gone through female puberty yet. Doctors do not want to start you on male puberty that early because they say it stops you from growing taller.
