Title: Is it possible to transition as agender?
Post by: SHIKI on February 16, 2016, 06:40:42 AM
Hello!

I have wanted to do a partial transition for a while now. But up until recently i didnt know that it was actually a posibility.
Im 17 and i live in Sweden, so the information i can get in my particular situation is limited.
I'm basically asking what such a transition is like. What results the different treatments have. And how i would go about beginning my own partial transition.

Hi SHIKI, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. I'm not sure how the process works in Sweden. I'm partially transitioning, I take a little bit of estrogen to feminize my body, but I'm not pursuing any surgery. I live in between male and female. Here's a welcome pamphlet for you. See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Yes you can.  Find a gender therapist in Sweden and go for informational interview.  It may be under a different name, but the support is out there.

I just posted about having only bottom surgery f to m. I basically want to stay a woman and have a penis only. They told me I couldn't even begin to get metiodplasty until I had been on T. I live in the United States where transgender is taboo in my particular area and there are practically no therapist specializing in transgender.
So is partial transition available in Sweden?

Its more a question of what the wpath is stating.

Nonbinary transitions are allowed in the standsrds of care version 7.

It is concerning that you have no local gender therapists nearby.  And are in a part of the states thatvis trans hostile.

Im not up on the current socv7 requirements.  Thats the first thing to look at.

You need to research hon and a therapist is important to find somehow.  Worth a long drive.  Or relocation when you can.

Insurance is a different matter.  They are a bit behind and still have outdated policies.

Dig deeper...

Non-binary people are NOT required to sit on the sidelines and cheer on binary people as they become the people they always knew they should be.

We are entitled to transition to whatever presentation works for us. We are entitled to all medical interventions available to binary people.

The first step would be to figure out what you want out of your transition.
