Title: Minor starting HRT in Minnesota?
Post by: GizJaz on February 16, 2016, 03:33:42 PM

This post is to help a friend.

I was hoping I could find more trans people from Minnesota, especially those who went through HRT as a minor.

I was hoping to find an endo that will prescribe to 14-15 age range?

The Sexual Health Center at the U of M has an over 1 year wait list, and I don't even know if they'll prescribe at a younger age there.

At the 14-15 year range, it would be nearly impossible to find somebody who would prescribe hormones. Most of the time you need to be 18 or near 18 for hormones. What is possible is puberty blockers which will stop puberty until they reach legal age. I suggest you contact the local LGBT and see if they can recommend a therapy group/Endo in the area who can tell you more about treatment in the area.

Parental Consent is another factor to if you can get hormones. I would recommend the sources that have been spoken of on this thread.
