Title: Hi
Post by: Stormy on October 10, 2007, 12:10:16 AM
I'm Stormy and I've been lurking for awhile.  I'm two years post-op SRS and FFS, just a bit longer
full time (yeah, I cheated the rules a bit).  My transition wasn't easy but I've kept my job, family, and
most of my friends, and met a bunch of new friends since.  Most importantly, the love of my life has
stayed with me.  While not a fairy tale, my story is close enough to one for me.  I'm ecstatic to have
made the journey and live happily as proof that transition can end with happiness and success.  My life
isn't perfect but it's WAY better than it was.  I live in a grey area, not truly stealth but mostly so.  There
are the people who knew me before but for those I've met since FFS, I seem to be fully accepted as a
woman.  I don't have any issues at the moment but hope my success might be encouraging to others.

Hi Stormy, welcome to Susan's

I love to hear good news transitions.  ;D
Actually the worst part for me was to come full time. Although I made several trips to other towns dressed in the proper fem clothes. Places where no one knew me and just walked around and sometimes going into shops to shop around. But the coming out turned out to be hard only because I was scared to death not knowing how people would react. Well you know what? I fretted and sweat bullets for nothing. I went out the door just being me and stuffing the fear within. Not a souls payed me any attention. Ya I worked on the same job I had, Social Worker for seven years and got SRS four years ago. I believe it all depends a lot on attitude and personality.

Nice to meet you, Stormy!

You have an interesting nick, "Stormy."  There is no doubt that you have weathered a few, so you can feel welcome here.

I am also truly happy for how things have worked out for you.  It's not everyone who is blessed with keeping their loved ones close after transition and GRS.  There is much that you could offer here so make yourself comfortable and enjoy.
