I'm on week 2 of hormones and so far, my only changes have been mood related and softer skin.
Is there anything I should avoid while on hormones that will negatively impact fat redistribution? In other words, what kind of things will make me look less "manly" than what I could be with HRT?
My diet/ exercise is pretty healthy (steel cut oats w/ fruit in the morning after an hour of cardio, salad w/ humus, chicken, fruit and curry powder sprinkled on top for flavor for lunch, and whatever my college's dining hall serves for dinner.. usually some beef, chicken, vegetables, etc. I avoid carbs unless they're whole grain. Also, I like to go all out once a week and just eat whatever I want to keep my metabolism up. I refrain from drinking anything but water)
I should also note that I'm 18, 5'5, 100 lbs and I try to do cardio about 3-4 times a week.
I take my two daily doses of spiro and estradiol 12 hours apart from each other... at 10 AM and another at 10 PM.
So will anything unexpected negatively impact my transition? Is my diet okay for transitioning?
You sound fine. Two weeks is, in the grand scheme of things, hardly anything. The changes can take many months to come into play.and be noticeable. Fat doesn't redistribute per se, it just starts to grow in other areas and is a gradual process. As long as you're not smoking or binge drinking you're doing good.

Thank you! Are you sure I shouldn't be eating more? My diet is full of nutrients and such but the calorie content is kind of low. Should I increase caloric intake or just keep a balanced, healthy diet with average portion sizes?
Eat a healthy diet and you'll be fine. Some people do develop cravings over time, you'll know when they hit. Eating to put on weight will usually result in the fat going to places where you don't want it to, like the stomach.
Eating more may help you round out, but not if you do it before your hormones are at the right level. 2 weeks isn't enough to have established that. Wait till your blood test if you want to put a bit of weight on. My 2 cents.
It seems as if it was such a long time ago that I started with hrt. I wanted to do everything at once and it took me a bit of time for the emotional side to weigh in on reality. This is a long road best taken slowly and very carefully. I de-transitioned I will say around two years ago and have only recently begun anew. My therapist pointed out several obvious qualifiers that put me in the range of typical female that somehow just blew right by me so I have already made much of the progress I always desired. I only wish I had known this was available when I was 18. You'll be fine just follow what orders your doctors give you. Just so you know most of us start out with one set of reasons to live this way but they quickly change as obstacles are encountered and dealt with.
I know it's not exactly what you are asking but get out and live. Much of my transition was spent cooped up in my small apartment because I had to relocate away from everything I knew to a place where people didn't easy form friendships. If you get out and live life, the transition will go much faster and you will enjoy it much more. Don't worry about things moving slow because it will happen when it's time to happen.
Not sure what kind of fat distribution you expect at 100 lbs, eat more.
I am at 5"9 and 110 and the male bone frame is obvious.
At 65 inches you should put on between 15 and 20 pounds .
