Title: Is TMJ a concern for jaw contouring/reduction?
Post by: Orchid on February 27, 2016, 08:32:00 AM
I'm going to consult with a surgeon soon, but I thought to ask this here in case anyone here has any information. Thanks!

I had TMJ prior to surgery and didn't even mention it. It seems to now have magically gone away.

... That makes me ecstatic. Whoa. Just... I need a minute.

Okay, so, that's pretty incredible. Thanks for sharing that spaceships, makes me feel much less apprehensive about it all. (:

Fewer headaches is another positive thing I've seen after FFS.  Between much smaller frontal sinus , fewer and not as bad sinus headaches, and corrugator mucsle reduction, only one migraine headache since mid-Sept 2015 FFS.

YEA!!!

Wow! That's really good! Did you notice the changes gradually or did it happen immediately? I assume it's kind of difficult to gauge that while you're recovering, but I thought I'd ask that, anyway.

not immediately, between the swelling ( I had correction surgery for nasal valve collapse ) it took awhile before I could breathe well through my nnose anyway.  The migraine effect was immediate.

It sounds like all in all I can potentially have more good than I bargained for after surgery- I'll mention my concerns to the surgeon but it sounds like it's a common practice.

Thanks for the info deeiche, much appreciated
