I just want to say hi. I am really interested in hearing other trans-women's stories. I feel so many of them resemble me and my life. I'm about to watch The Danish Girl with my awesome wife. I'm very lucky in a lot of ways, despite being a woman in man's body, not least because my wife of 8 years told me she is basically a lesbian and that my femininity is what she likes about me when I finally officially told her I am a female. To some degree I told myself at the same time. I've always just seen myself as a very feminine man who sees his body as a a woman's body with a penis, and loved to be shaved and dainty. Kind of like a gay man who likes women. I don't come from enlightened or even all that tolerant people, so a lot of this was new to me as I became a young adult. Still is really. :)
I don't want to drag on and on, but am happy to talk to others like me about anything. I have a varied past of interest and careers and education. My wife and I are both engineers. Not a very feminine field per se, but who cares. We're kick-ass chicks who are obsessed with each-other even after 10 years together. We are child-free by choice, and love to play guitar (I'm a professional musician). We have regular cheese parties with wine which is both of us in bed, buzzed on wine, eating cheese. Not unlike tonight!
Anyway, I ramble. Thank you for having a place like this. Information I have found here has been invaluable. I'm sure I'll start posting here and there now that I have announced my presence.

Thank you, Genee, Ms Grace, & VM. ;) I'm amazed by how many new introductions each week. I hope that things like The Danish Girl and Transparent help the general public understand this whole thing better. Lack of understanding and thus, acceptance is, in my view, the number one challange. Thanks again!
