I have some bad news here. :( And... I dont know where to turn. I still live with my parents, and they have decided they want to move (granted some events take place). Now I am in DESPRATE need of a job switch here-
How do I go about my job search as someone IN transition? My name change is not legal yet, my hearing date is March 5th (unsure if they are going to move before then or not), but I cant leave the area. I kinda have to keep my insurance because of my doctor visits.
My education is that of Medical Assistant. And that is where I want to be. A Medical Assistant at a clinic.
I dont know how to handle job searches though :( Do I go in there as Jessilynn Jane Baker? or as the male version of myself?
If I have to go in there as a male version of myself, how can I sit there and be comfortable in my own skin and lie straight to their face while I am on Hormones?
If I go in there as Jessilynn Jane... whats to stop them from NOT hiring me for being trans? And not saying anything other than the classic "We'll call you."
And when I fill out Applications, do I fill them out as Jessilynn Jane Baker?
Or the disgusting male I currently am.
I'm kinda having a panic attack here. >__<
If you want to transition pretty soon or are already transitioning I would apply as Jessilynn. There is almost no way they can't hire you and if you come off confident you should be fine

Well the name change and gender change is legal on APRIL 5 sorry I made a mistake there.
SO I was wondering how that conversation will go "yeah I'm transitioning I'm transgender my soon legal name will be Jessilynn and my sex will be female."
But I'm confused on applications :/
My policy was to apply as I presented and I moved into the new role between jobs. The only time it was an issue for me was with a security check and because I told the truth at the right time, there wasn't an issue.
Any chance of finding somewhere they treat trans people? Your background would be an advantage.
