Title: Estradiol for a week before adding Spiro?
Post by: JessicaSondelli on March 10, 2016, 01:35:32 PM
I started HRT just a few days ago and my endo prescribed Estradiol and Spiro but asked me to start with Estradiol only and add Spiro after a week so in case I'm allergic to one of the 2 drugs, we would know which one it is....

I have no known allergies....

Does that make any sense?

Thank you all
-Jessie

It's very wise to do it that way. The odds are you won't have a problem with either medication but if you do, you will know which one is causing the problem. Starting Estradiol first will start your feminine development as soon as possible and Sprio will only be delayed a bit.

Thanks Dena,

It's hard looking at the bottle full of Spiro pills and not being able to kick that damn T away.. But I'll be a good girl and don't touch them for now.[emoji56]

Really appreciate your input

I had to wait an entire month and do another blood test.  I don't think it made a difference anyways because I feel like my progress has been very good and a lot better than I had expected.  I'm also on estradiol and spironolactone!

I waited six weeks and another blood test too.

In the scheme of things, it's nothing.
