"Kendall Oliver, a gender-nonconforming Army reservist and Afghanistan veteran, was just trying to get a haircut in the Los Angeles suburb of Rancho Cucamonga. Instead, Oliver was denied service by the shop's Christian owner, who says the Bible dictates that women shouldn't cut their hair.

Oliver told Los Angeles TV station KNBC that he identifies as male, but that didn't make a difference at The Barbershop.

"They said, 'It doesn't matter ma'am, we still won't cut a woman's hair,'" Oliver recounted to KNBC."

A clear-cut violation of his rights under California's Unruh Civil Rights Act.  If a business is open to the public, California law requires that it must serve the public without discrimination.

Alas, I fear this gentleman will be made a hero by the rabidly anti-LGBT religious lobby, another poor soul put upon by the evil forces of political correctness, a further argument for these nasty religious freedom laws popping up like weeds.

We're the last best hope of the haters. You can't refuse service to people with a different color skin than yours, to people with accents, to people who wear different religious garb, or to people with disabilities. Whom else can they hate?
