Does anyone know if there is any top surgery doctors in Georgia?
And if yes then do you know of anyone with good results?
I'm asking because i'm planning on starting somethings in Georgia because where i live they are way behind in medical care and there is no way in hell there going to be helping me not over my dead body! So going where my best friend is and trying to get help around that area sounds like the best option for me sense i can travel but i have no car and i don't want my family around me at the time and have no sense of direction so Georgia is my option or some place close to Georgia that wouldn't take a plane ticket.
You might have a look here:
www.topsurgery.net/
(there is also a worldwide map if others want to look)
you might look up reviews and experiences of others ...
I wouldn't necessarily make it dependent on a certain place ...
you might look for someone with a good reputation ...
*hugs*
I met someone here in the Atlanta area a couple of months ago who had just had top surgery. I didn't ask him if it was local but I can message him and ask. He's quite well known in the Atlanta LGBTQ community and he would know who is good and who isn't.
I sent him a message. He's out of town right now so I'm not sure when he will answer.
You need to get someone else involved that will be there before and after surgery. Every surgeon I know of requires a person to pick you up because you will be loopy. They ain't going to let you walk home by yourself after surgery or anything.
I'm looking at Dr. James Parker and Dr. Lincenberg. Parker doesn't require a letter but so far the lady who deals with his ftm top surgery is very poor at getting back with me and he also doesn't have anything on his website about it this kind of surgery. So I'm really concerned about him. Dr. Lincenberg on the other hand does require a letter but has good customer service so far and his website does have information on ftm surgery. They will even help you get a letter if you are having trouble getting one. So I'm leaning more towards him than Parker.
I want to find out more from Dr. Parker though before I completely rule him out because I literally have no information on his top surgeries because she just doesn't return calls or is always with someone else. But I have some info on Lincenberg if you need some more info

If Florida isn't too far you should consider Dr. Garramone. His website is so detailed and laid out for you I don't really think you will have many questions after reading it. I honestly would like to go to him but I can't afford to stay in Florida for a week

I would be concerned that you can't get in contact with Parker before your surgery. They need to be accessible. What if you have complications after surgery and can't get in contact with the surgeon?

Yeah it's honestly concerning me. I was already not too sure about him because he has nothing on ftm surgery on his website and I can't find anything, other than the fact that he does informed consent, about him doing ftm top surgery on Google. So now I'm really concerned. I'll honestly probably end up going with Lincenberg instead because it was just a lot easier to talk to the staff and even though she was with someone she took time out to talk to me quickly. She even asked questions and gave reassurance so I'm sure Dr. Lincenberg will be just as friendly.
I'll still call Dr. Parker back on Monday if I can but at this point it's just so that I know more about him. If his name is going to be in the ftm top surgery community then we should know more about him. I mean even Georgia Tech University gave his site on their lgbtq site so we should definitely know more about him

Lots of plastic surgeons are starting to offer top surgery now, which may be why there isn't a lot online about him. My advice when dealing with surgeons like this is to not settle on them until after your consult - meet with them, ask good questions, and look through all of their results. Make sure you see at least one result of someone whose body has a similar build to yours.
I think it's good that there are more options out there for people now, but don't sacrifice quality for geography.
Midnightstar, my friend has been out of town at the HRC meetings in DC but he got back to me today. His surgery was in Florida so he didn't have a recommendation for anyone in Georgia.

Yeah that's why I'm not ruling him out just yet. I'd love to see what he has done so far. Maybe he just started but does a great job I'd hate to miss out on that especially since he does informed consent. I live in Georgia so these two seem to be my best bet

This is over a year later, but did you ever find a surgeon in GA? I'm currently looking for a good one myself.

I live in Georgia and I'm going to Florida for my top in December. That said, I live very close to the Fl/Ga line so it's usually easier for me to go into Florida rather than drive to upper Ga.
