Title: My hair transplant results (6mo)
Post by: Debra on March 13, 2016, 11:41:22 AM
I thought I'd share my FUT Hair transplants results I had done with Dr. Gabel in Portland, OR a couple years back. He posted this on a forum with side-by-side results for before and 6 months after.

http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/176620-steven-gabel-md-facs-%96-oregon-washington-%96-high-density-frontal-angles-restoration.html

As you can imagine, the hair is really long now at about 2 yrs post-op and I wear my hair back all the time now. Really happy with it and it did stave off my need for FFS for a couple years haha.

Now of course hoping to fix my forehead and nose (and maybe chin) later this year with FFS.

Ditto.

After I had my done, it transformed my life more than any other procedure and it's a relatively simple one compared to others we put ourselves through.

You look great.

I had hair transplants last Oct.  What I notice the most is the long wait to see if the transplanted hair is going to grow.  You really have to have patience.

On average I understand it takes 12-18 months for the new hair to  grow to full maturity.
Obviously a great deal of patience is required.

All the best,

Jannicke

He did an excellent job, very natural looking hairline. I guess you know having a foreheadreconstruction AFTER HT makes you loose them?

You don't need foreheadsurgery btw...it looks feminine anyway.

Not necessarily at all.

You can't really see my brow ridge....esp from the side. It's horrifically apparent.

I had my hairline work done by Dr Gabel as well.  He did a fantastic job.  You do need to be patient but I was very impressed with how mine came out.  It has been a year and couple months since then and my hair looks great.  I encourage you to do it before transition unless you are going the wig route.

Make sure that you do all the post op care as requested.  It's important if you want things to do well.

Looks great; so much more feminine than before :). My dad had a hair transplant done recently and it's amazing what a difference it can make to someone's overall appearance. Hope the healing goes well :)

Wow that's a great result!  I hope mine turns out as good.

Was it necessary to use minoxidil afterwards?

That's absolutely fantastic and is pretty much what I'm looking to do.

Would you be able to let me know what the cost was? Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

Wow what a fantastic job...I cannot agree with you more about money well spent.

I had my implants done 4 weeks ago and may need another round yet and I will be delighted to get anything as good as yours looks.

Fantastic

A bit of a necrobump here but since this thread was recently linked by the OP, I might I'd ask here instead of wherever the link was put.

@Debra do you have periodic pictures of your evolution after the transplant?

Good one..I can update the thread, Had my second round of implants. First round along with HRT has stimulate new natural growth as well as implants.

Will be another 8 weeks before I can really start to see how it will look and even that is not accurate as it all takes time to thicken and gain strength.

Will post picks once I have the cut and colour done...this has been ongoing since April last year, for the first round and November for the second round...and now we wait...this is  the hard part...letting it all grow in

Maybe at some point. The hairline is kinda tainted by the FFS scar now ;)
